2012-04-11T10:22:04ZSan Francisco 49ers linebacker Michael Wilhoite has signed with David Canter of South Florida-based DEC Management. Wilhoite joins his college teammate and current 49er wide receiver Joe Hastings as DEC Management clients. Both players went to Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, which has a population of roughly 7,000 students. The two were also recently honored by the Kansas Senate.
Wilhoite was formerly represented by Honolulu, Hawaii-based agent Leo Goeas of Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc. Goeas played college ball at the University of Hawaii prior to embarking on a 7-year career in the NFL. Last year, Wilhoite was signed to the 49ers practice squad after playing for the UFL’s Omaha Nighthawks as an undrafted free agent.
